Real Problems, Real Results

One Big Heart doesn’t do yoga for the sake of yoga — we use it to solve real problems. We’re here to help you tackle stress, tension, injury, burnout, and mental noise head-on. Our approach is practical and evidence-informed with zero fluff. If it doesn’t work in real life, we won’t waste your time on it.

Three Styles, One Purpose – Results

We offer three core class styles – Hot Yoga, Slow Flow, and Yin Yoga – each purpose-built to train your body and nervous system in different ways. Whether you need to build strength, release stress, recover from an injury, or quiet a busy mind, there’s a class designed for you. Every style is backed by proven benefits (no woo-woo rituals here), so you get measurable improvements you can feel in daily life.

Hot Yoga – Sweat, Strength & Mental Grit

Our Hot Yoga class is a vigorous, heated practice (32°C) that combines flowing sequences with intensity.

This is yoga meets full-body workout: you’ll build strength, stamina, and flexibility while breaking a healthy sweat. The heat warms your muscles for safer deep stretches and an added cardio challenge, helping you push your limits and flush out stress. It’s not just about the burn – the intensity forces you to be present. You can’t fixate on work emails when you’re holding Warrior II in a hot room! Over time, learning to stay calm under this physical pressure carries over into calmer responses to real-world pressure.

Who it’s for: the Overloaded Achiever who wants an efficient stress-busting workout, and the Relentless Performer seeking to enhance strength and mobility without boredom. If you’re a driven, results-focused person craving a challenge with payoff, Hot Yoga delivers. Bonus: Studies show hot yoga can boost mood and mental well-being in just weeks – so you’ll walk out feeling empowered and clear-headed, not just tired.

Benefits

Strength and Flexibility

Expect increased muscle strength, better cardiovascular fitness, improved flexibility, and an endorphin-fueled calm after class. Hot Yoga will test you, but it will also train you to become physically stronger and mentally more resilient (think of it as productive discomfort that makes you tougher). When life heats up, you’ll handle it with more ease.

Emotional

Learn to regulate your emotional fluctuations as you tune into your body and breath. You will develop:

• Self-confidence

• Inner stability

• Sense of calm

• Less reactivity

Injury Management

One Big Heart is a place of referral by physio’s, chiro’s, osteo’s and GP’s for our proven track record of helping people overcome injury and stay fixed once the discomfort is gone. We work with ankles, knee’s, shoulders, hips and even help people with bulging disc’s and fractured spines.

Pain Management

Perhaps you don’t have a diagnosed injury but experience neck pain, back pain or even headaches and migraine. Many of our students report within the first month of yoga, such pains that they have experience for up to 20 years have reduced by at least half and frequency of pain becomes weekly or monthly instead of daily.

Psychological

Our founder was diagnosed with depression and medicated in his early teens and as with most people, found the medication never worked. He later developed anxiety after bouts with drug and alcohol problems. Yoga took all that away, this is the main reason One Big Heart exists. We help people with depression, anxiety, PTSD and many of psychological trauma’s on a daily basis.

Slow Flow -Move Mindfully, Build Foundations

Man practising a supported forward-fold stretch in a yoga studio, focusing on flexibility and mindful breathwork.

Slow Flow is a non-heated, moderate paced class focused on fundamentals and flow. No pretzel poses or blasting music.

This is deliberate yoga that emphasizes alignment, breathing, and control. You’ll string poses together in accessible sequences, building balance and muscle endurance step by step. Slow Flow is excellent for improving joint mobility and releasing stiffness. It’s challenging enough to grow your strength and flexibility, yet gentle enough that anyone can start here. In fact, research shows a regular yoga practice can improve strength and flexibility as effectively as conventional workouts– without the intimidation factor. So don’t underestimate the “slow” in Slow Flow; it’s efficient training in disguise, perfect for learning technique and avoiding injury as you progress.

Who it’s for: the Stiff Beginner who can’t touch their toes (yet) and needs a welcoming place to start, and the Recovery Seeker coming back from injury or burnout who wants to rebuild gradually. If you’re new, inflexible, or simply overwhelmed, Slow Flow meets you where you are. We’ll help you loosen tight muscles, increase flexibility, and develop core strength one class at a time – all while dialling down stress. The pace allows you to actually learn what you’re doing, so you leave feeling accomplished instead of lost. You’ll gain fluid movement, better posture, and a sense of calm focus that carries into the rest of your day.

Benefits

Flexibility

Slow Flow trains your body gently but effectively. You build functional strength, improve range of motion, and hone balance

Psychological

By syncing movement with breath, you also quiet the mental chatter – expect a noticeable increase in mental clarity and calm after class. This style is your foundation for any fitness journey, teaching you proper form and body awareness that pay off in everything else you do.

Yin Yoga – Reset, Recover & Relax

Yin Yoga is the ultimate antidote to our high-stress world. It’s a deeply relaxing, restorative style where you stroll in, lie down, and don’t stand up for the next hour.

In Yin class, we target the body’s connective tissues with passive stretches held for several minutes each. You’ll use props like blocks or bolsters to get comfortable and let gravity do the work. This gentle approach unwinds tight fascia, lubricates your joints, and releases long-held tension. Think of Yin as a guided power nap for your body and mind – it triggers your “rest and digest” mode, helping to reset an overactive nervous system. Students often report sleeping better and feeling noticeably less frazzled after adding Yin to their routine.

Who it’s for: the Overloaded Achiever with a racing mind and knotted shoulders who desperately needs to hit “pause,” and the Recovery Seeker healing from injury, pain, or exhaustion. (Even our Relentless Performers – yes, the go-go-go athletes – find Yin indispensable for muscle recovery and preventing burnout.) If you’re living in overdrive, Yin will slow you down in the best way. It’s one hour of intentional stillness to recharge your batteries.

Benefits

Physical

Yin Yoga is a flexibility goldmine – by relaxing into stretches, you’ll gently increase your flexibility and joint mobility without strain.

Psychological

Yin cultivates deep calm and clarity: the long holds become a form of meditation, training you to observe discomfort and breathe through it. This builds emotional resilience and patience that translate far beyond the mat
