300HR Forrest Yoga Teacher

72HR Forrest Yoga Advanced Teacher Training

Growing up in South West Sydney, Alana struggled to find her place within the structure of traditional schooling. Her creative spirit found release through dance, piano, and drawing — early signs of her need to express and connect beyond words.

At 16, she experienced the devastating loss of both her best friend and her father, a turning point that led to years of destructive patterns and emotional struggle. Yet through movement and art, she began to rebuild. Dance became both an outlet and a profession, but despite external success, a sense of emptiness remained.

Searching for a deeper sense of peace, Alana turned to yoga. What began as a tool to manage stress soon became the foundation for transformation. During her teacher training in Ubud, she immersed herself in yoga philosophy, bodywork, anatomy, meridian theory, meditation, and energy practices including Reiki and Tarot.

Through yoga, she discovered something she had never known before — the ability to be held, to heal, and to reconnect with herself.

Today, Alana is a respected teacher known for her warmth, intuition, and depth of understanding. Her classes weave physical practice with mindful awareness, inviting students to explore both strength and softness — to reconnect with their body, their breath, and their truth.

After completing his Teacher Training with Power Living, Ben joined the OBH teaching team, where he leads the Friday evening classes and continues to deepen his study and practice.

Grounded, steady, and approachable, Ben brings a leadership background and a strong interest in anatomy to his teaching. His classes are practical and focused, helping students feel capable, centred, and truly at home in their bodies.

Yoga Teacher

Yoga Teacher (Level 2, 400+ Hours)
Y12SR (Yoga of 12-Step Recovery Leader)
Personal Trainer (Cert III & IV in Fitness)

Through regular practice, she rebuilt both body and mind — cultivating resilience, clarity, and connection. By 2016, she was teaching with the same passion that yoga had ignited in her.

With a background in Sport and Exercise Science, Danica brings an evidence-based approach to her classes. Her teaching is informed by years of experience in injury rehabilitation and functional movement, shaped by her own journey through scoliosis, chronic pain, and martial arts training.

Danica’s classes emphasise safe, strong, and sustainable movement. She weaves together anatomy, mindfulness, and personal insight to help students build capability from the inside out. Off the mat, she continues to inspire through her creative pursuits as a visual artist, podcaster, tarot reader, and jewellery maker.

HAYLEY

Yoga Teacher

200HR Yoga Teacher Training – One Big Heart

After a 15-year career in advertising, Hayley was introduced to yoga through a chance invite to One Big Heart. What began as a class quickly became a daily practice — and a turning point. On the mat, she found something missing for years: stillness, clarity, and connection. As her practice deepened, she noticed the real transformation was happening off the mat — more grounding, more grace, and a greater sense of ease in life.

Within a year, Hayley completed One Big Heart’s 200HR Yoga Teacher Training and began teaching the practice that helped her come home to herself.

Her teaching is practical, mindful, and deeply human. She brings yoga into workplaces and women’s support spaces, bridging modern life with ancient wisdom. In every class, Hayley creates a space that’s welcoming and real — a place to move, breathe, and reconnect.

Michael

Yoga Teacher

Bachelor of Applied Science (University of Sydney)

200 hr YTT (PowerLiving)

50 hr Advanced Vinyasa (PowerLiving)

Michael comes to yoga with a lifelong dedication to understanding the body and human potential. With a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, his foundation in musculoskeletal biomechanics and anatomy has supported countless people in recovering from injury and optimising movement for performance and wellbeing.

After years of searching for meaning beyond physical mastery, yoga became the tool that helped him strip back the layers and reconnect with purpose. Through the study of ancient teachings, Michael discovered that movement, stillness, and self-inquiry are pathways to living with depth, connection, and authenticity.

Outside the studio, his life is guided by the same principles — expressed through surfing, martial arts, and shamanic practice. He weaves these disciplines into a modern understanding of spirituality and the human experience. Michael’s classes reflect this balance: strong yet grounded, practical yet profound. His intention is simple — to help others reconnect with the beauty and intelligence of being human.

Obi

Yoga Teacher

RYT 300 Vinyasa | 100HR Yin

Obi’s journey into yoga began after years of chasing fulfilment through study, career, and self-improvement, yet never feeling truly at peace. Constantly striving but rarely still, yoga offered something different — a moment to pause, breathe, and turn inward. Over time, the practice became a way to reconnect with presence, awareness, and joy.

With over 400 hours of training across Vinyasa and Yin, Obi brings a balanced approach to both movement and mindfulness. His classes focus on alignment, safety, and curiosity — creating an environment where students can explore freely, listen deeply, and find comfort in imperfection.

For Obi, yoga isn’t about performing the perfect pose; it’s about coming home to yourself, one breath at a time. His teaching blends structure with play, encouraging students to move with awareness, compassion, and a sense of light-hearted discovery.
